Piano Resources

The Piano

There are different types of pianos. The main types are grand piano, upright piano, digital piano and electronic keyboard. For the full article which explains the different types, check out www.musicalhow.com/piano-types/

Beginners will often choose a digital piano, or an electronic keyboard (with full size weighted keys). I am happy to help you choose a suitable instrument.

Thanks to John Linney for this helpful graphic
A fun way to help with understanding of lengths of notes for small children is to compare them to lego, so a semibreve would be a 4 block etc.

Semibreve [ O O O O ]
Minim         [ O O ]
Crotchet     [ O ]
